Dear Nomads,
Let’s admit it. Traveling is awesome. So in times of a climate crisis, what can we do to lower its impact and truly make the experience worthwhile? 🐋
In this issue we talk to a minimalist, guide you through conscious traveling and share our go-to essential oil hacks. 🌱
5 Conscious Tips for Travelers
Go local
The mainstream belief is that to have an exotic experience you must travel far and wide. Yet the lockdowns have shown us how little we know of our own backyard.
If you can, travel by train and enjoy the landscape changing.
Plan a trip that supports the local community
Support small hotels and operations run by locals—make sure your trip supports the community instead of a big corp.
Join a conservation-focused tour
Here a list of our top 5 eco-friendly travel companies to help you choose your next trip.
Stay conscious when abroad
Minimize your impact by always carrying your own
water bottle and opting for vegetarian meals.
Slow travel is cool
Western society has normalized frenetic lifestyles, jetting off somewhere new every week. Yet this type of travel can utterly drain you. Be strategic in your traveling: can you stay longer? Is it a work trip and can you extend it? Can you work from remote?
10 Notes from a Minimalist
Only own things that bring you joy, so that every time you use something it’s an extra little pleasure.
Create a capsule wardrobe so everything goes together and you can compose outfits infinitely.
Choose quality, invest in what you buy, take the time to make your decision, so you’re sure it’s worth it.
Take care of what you already have, the idea is not to change capsule every season.
You will have so much more time for things that matter! Stuff really clutters the mind.
Minimalist doesn’t mean black and white clone, have fun creating your own identity through your lifestyle.
It’s so easy to travel! As a minimalist you can almost fit everything you own in a backpack and off you go! Freedom!
Don’t be too strict. If there’s something that brings you a huge amount of joy but you don’t use too much, remember it’s up to you! No one will blame you.
I love having my universe with me anywhere I go, I feel so free.
Pick versatile items! Things that will take you from a climbing session to an important meeting. But always in style.
